Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a Small Business Banking Underwriter for a hybrid role across Kansas City, MO; Dubuque, IA; and Denver, CO. You will analyze financial statements, perform cash flow and collateral analysis, and issue underwriting decisions within SLA benchmarks.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in business/finance, 2+ years in commercial lending, strong MS Office skills, and excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to support loan closings and pipeline management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/finance preferred.
• 2+ years in commercial lending or related banking.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong accounting, financial statement knowledge and marketing awareness.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements.
• Utilize bank systems for loan processing and loan proposals.
• Complete underwriting and communicate credit decisions within SLA benchmarks.
• Work with bank associates to facilitate loan closings.
• Manage pipeline of credits and prioritize credit requests.
• Maintain knowledge of lending policies and SBSS scoring.
