Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director of Site Learning & Talent Development to shape learning strategy across a biopharmaceutical manufacturing and vaccine site. You will drive learner-centric design, governance of curricula, and integrate digital and AI solutions to build workforce capability and execution excellence.

This role focuses on ensuring readiness for capital projects, tech transfers, and enterprise system implementations, while maintaining GxP compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in biopharmaceuticals or regulated industries.
• Experience building workforce pipelines, apprenticeship programs, and educational partnerships.
• Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
• Experience with skills-based hiring, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and workforce analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead the learning strategy for new site builds, asset expansions, tech transfers and enterprise system rollouts, and major enhancements.
• Develop scalable onboarding and upskilling frameworks to ensure rapid workforce readiness prior to go-live.
• Champion human-centered design principles and experiential, role-based training.
• Pioneer Digital and AI capabilities within the L&D ecosystem, including AI-driven content curation.
• Own LMS governance, data integrity, and standard operating procedures for training management.
• Mentor and build a high-performing L&D team and foster continuous development.
