Job summary

King County’s Wastewater Construction Management IV role is a high-impact position overseeing various contract types (DBB, DB/GCCM, work orders) for capital projects in the Puget Sound region. The Project Representative will manage complex construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence while collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and environmental teams.

The role emphasizes equity and public health, offering opportunities to lead major infrastructure improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience with five years of construction engineering/management experience including three years of field inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications and provide constructive comments to managers, engineers and consultants.
• Working knowledge of construction laws, ordinances, County policy, and contract terms.
• Experience with wastewater or heavy industrial facilities construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer overall implementation phase on CIP construction contracts and serve as Owner Representative.
• Coordinate and lead matrixed CIP teams across operations, engineering, permitting, environmental, and project control.
• Ensure plan/spec compliance, manage scopes, schedules, budgets, risk, and QA/QC responses including inspection and testing plans.
• Lead contract change management, resolution of disputes, and documentation control.
• Coordinate project closeout activities with the team.
