Job summary

Duke Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer or Engineer III to lead hands-on design of transmission lines (69 kV and above). The role involves independent work, problem solving, and advancing technical expertise in transmission engineering.

Hybrid work is available with relocation support for suitable candidates. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in HV transmission design, experience with one-line diagrams and plan/profiles, and familiarity with tools like PLS, AutoCAD, MFAD, and Primavera.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program; 4–6 years depending on Engineer III/Senior Engineer level.
• Master’s degree may replace BS as noted; PE license preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support proposals and align with project goals.
• Collaborate with groups to ensure successful project outcomes with status briefings.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor work activities to meet business goals.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and sketches for defined problems.
• Conduct studies and manage non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight.
