Job summary

IFG US in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Packaging Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing for packaging materials. Hybrid work arrangement: 3 in-office days (Tue–Thu) with travel to sites as needed.

This role reports to the Head of Procurement & Sustainability and collaborates with operations, R&D, QA, and supply chain to ensure compliant, sustainable, and cost-efficient packaging solutions. Base: $100,000–$120,000 with a 10% target bonus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive packaging procurement experience in food or consumer packaged goods
• Experience managing packaging supplier relationships and negotiating contracts
• Knowledge of food-grade packaging regulations and quality standards

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement packaging procurement strategies for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging materials
• Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and evaluate supplier performance on quality, delivery, and innovation
• Monitor packaging industry trends, material innovations, and identify opportunities for cost savings and sustainability improvements
• Conduct risk assessments for packaging supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions
• Prepare and manage packaging procurement budgets, forecasts, and cost analyses
