Job summary

Ballard Spahr seeks a seasoned Litigation Paralegal to support the Portland office, with travel to Seattle as projects require. You will manage large caseloads, draft documents for attorney review, organize discovery, and coordinate with clients, counsel, and vendors.

Hybrid role: three days in the office. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate and at least 7 years of law firm experience in litigation (class actions, labor/employment, or bankruptcy).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate with a minimum of 7 years of law firm litigation paralegal experience.
• Experience handling class actions, labor and employment, or bankruptcy matters is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and electronic filing.

Responsibilities

• Manage large and complex caseloads, including class actions.
• Case organization and discovery tasks.
• Fact gathering and legal research.
• Draft legal documents and prepare correspondence for attorney review.
• File court documents electronically and on paper in state and federal courts.
• Assist with all phases of trial, arbitration, hearings, and depositions.
• Compile, analyze, and summarize information.
• Coordinate with attorneys, clients, outside counsel, opposing counsel, other parties, and vendors.
