Job summary

Ballard Spahr is seeking an experienced paralegal to support attorneys in the Litigation practice group in San Francisco. The role includes managing large caseloads, drafting legal documents, and coordinating with clients, counsel, and vendors.

The position is hybrid with three days in the San Francisco office. Requirements include a bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate and at least 5 years in a law firm litigation setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate with a minimum of 5 years of law firm litigation paralegal experience.
• Experience handling class action litigation is highly desirable.
• Deep knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and electronic filing requirements.
• Proficiency with document management software (NetDocs), MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe PDF; strong Relativity and docketing software (Court Alert) experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage large and complex caseloads, including class actions.
• Case organization and discovery.
• Fact gathering and legal research.
• Draft legal documents and correspondence for attorney review.
• Prepare court documents for electronic and paper filing in state and federal courts.
• Assist with all phases of trial, arbitration, hearings and depositions.
• Compile, analyze, and summarize information.
• Coordinate with attorneys, clients, outside counsel, opposing counsel and vendors.
