Job summary

Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking a seasoned paralegal in our Litigation department in Portland. You will manage large caseloads, assist with discovery, and draft documents for attorney review, with occasional travel to Seattle as projects require.

Required: a bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate and at least 7 years of law firm experience in litigation, plus strong knowledge of court rules and e-filing. Proficiency in NetDocs, Relativity, and docketing is preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate required.
Minimum 7 years of law firm litigation paralegal experience.
Deep knowledge of state and federal court rules and e-filing.
Proficient in NetDocs, Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe PDF.
Experience with Relativity and docketing software is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Manage large and complex caseloads, including class action matters.
Case organization and discovery.
Fact gathering and research.
Drafting legal documents and preparing correspondence for attorney review.
Court document preparation and filing in all State and Federal Courts.
Assisting with all phases of trial, arbitration, hearing, and depositions.
Coordinating efforts with attorneys, clients, outside counsel, opposing counsel, other parties, and vendors.
