Job summary

Grainger is seeking a Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst to manage the delivery of consolidated financial reports and analyses used by management to monitor performance.

You will partner with Finance and non-finance teams across Accounting and other corporate functions. You will prepare timely external filings (10-K/10-Q/8-K), support the monthly close, and provide technical accounting research on US GAAP and SEC matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience; consolidation exposure preferred.
• Experience with project management and process improvements.
• Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring strong internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop and deliver timely and insightful financial reporting to the Company's business leaders.
• Assist with the preparation of key external SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
• Support the monthly close consolidation process, including preparation of financial statements, review of US GAAP adjustments, intercompany accounting, financial schedules and calculations, and related internal controls.
• Provide technical accounting support by researching, analyzing, and documenting conclusions on new and proposed accounting, reporting and disclosure standards under US GAAP and SEC guidance.
• Support Financial Reporting team in special projects, including process optimization, automation initiatives, and operationalization of new reporting requirements.
• Highlight opportunities for process improvements including development of new reports and analytics to support management needs and standardize processes across departments.
• Support external auditors throughout the financial audit process, including internal controls testing to support Grainger's SOX compliance and special projects.
