Job summary

Grainger, a leading broad line distributor, seeks a Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst to deliver timely financial reporting to business leaders and support SEC filings and monthly close processes.

You will research accounting standards under US GAAP, assist in internal controls, and drive process improvements with cross-functional teams. This role requires collaboration, project management experience, and CPA preference.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or similar field.
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting or private industry with consolidation exposure.
• Experience in project management and continuous improvement of financial processes.
• Ability to partner and collaborate across teams to drive results.
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop and deliver timely and insightful financial reporting to the Company’s business leaders.
• Assist with the preparation of key external SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
• Support the monthly close consolidation process, including the preparation of financial statements, review of US GAAP adjustments, account analysis, intercompany accounting, financial schedules and calculations, and related internal controls.
• Provide technical accounting support by researching, analyzing, and documenting conclusions on new and proposed accounting, reporting and, disclosure standards promulgated under US GAAP and issued by the SEC.
• Support Financial Reporting team in special projects, including process optimization, automation initiatives, and the operationalization of new reporting requirements, as applicable.
• Highlight opportunities for process improvements including the development of new reports and analytics to support management needs and standardize processes across departments.
• Support external auditors throughout the financial audit process, including internal controls testing to support Grainger’s SOX compliance and special projects.
