Job summary

W.W. Grainger, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Financial Reporting Analyst to manage the delivery of financial reports and analysis used by management to monitor the Company’s performance and to support the consolidation of financial statements.

The role collaborates with Finance and non-finance professionals across Accounting, Finance and corporate functions, delivering timely reporting and supporting external SEC filings while driving process improvements and SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar field.
• 3+ years of experience in public accounting and/or private industry with consolidation exposure.
• Experience in project management and continuous improvement of financial processes.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive results.
• CPA (preferred) or CPA candidate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop and deliver timely financial reporting to business leaders.
• Assist with preparation of external SEC filings (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K).
• Support monthly close consolidation, GAAP adjustments, intercompany accounting, and controls.
• Provide accounting research and conclusions on new standards under US GAAP and SEC guidance.
• Support special projects, process optimization, and automation initiatives.
• Highlight opportunities for process improvements and standardized reporting.
• Support external auditors and SOX compliance testing.
