Job summary

Tiello is partnering with a leading General Contractor in the greater Braintree, MA area to hire a Senior Project Accountant. This hybrid role focuses on project accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, and ensuring accuracy across multiple construction projects.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of construction accounting experience, familiarity with Procore or Sage 300, and a proactive approach to supervising accounting tasks and collaborating with project teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in construction accounting.
• Experience with General Contractor or Specialty Contractor.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting procedures, project financials, budgets, forecasting, billing, and change orders.
• Experience with lien releases, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxes, and payroll.
• Experience with Procore and/or Sage 300.
• Previous management or supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting activities and financial transactions across multiple construction projects.
• Manage project financials, including budgets, forecasts, costs, billings, and financial reporting.
• Review and process change orders, including approved, unpriced, and unapproved change orders.
• Prepare and manage lien releases and related project documentation.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
• Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
• Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and other project-related financial transactions.
• Assist with payroll, taxes, and other accounting-related activities as needed.
• Audit financial transactions and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain accurate and organized project financial records and documentation.
• Work closely with Project Managers and internal teams to monitor project financial performance.
