Job summary

Vaco in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Accounting Manager to lead general ledger, financial reporting, and the monthly close in a hands-on leadership role. The role is hybrid with on-site three days per week and requires overseeing a team across multi-entity consolidations.

You will partner with operations, payroll, and invoicing, develop policies and controls, coordinate audits, and drive process improvements while mentoring accounting staff.

Qualifications

• This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge with leadership experience.
• Experience with multi-entity consolidations and internal controls.
• Ability to partner with stakeholders across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activity, multi-entity consolidations, and monthly close processes
• Review financial results, account activity, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy
• Prepare and maintain timely financial statements under U.S. GAAP
• Partner with accounting, operations, payroll, and invoicing teams to improve processes
• Develop and improve accounting policies, controls, and scalable workflows
• Coordinate audit requests and support quarterly/annual audits
• Lead system enhancements and process improvement initiatives
• Mentor and develop accounting team members with clear priorities
