Job summary

Green Thumb is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Managed Services Accounting team in Chicago with a hybrid schedule (2 days in office). You will oversee payroll entries, expenses, intercompany billbacks, and vendor billing, while performing month-end close and ensuring policy compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting and 3+ years of experience, with advanced MS Excel skills and experience in Sage Intacct and SAP Concur preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Experience with Sage Intacct and SAP Concur preferred.
• Able to work independently or in teams with strong judgement and integrity.
• Operates with professionalism and discretion with confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financials of the Managed Services Accounting team including expenses, payroll entries, intercompany billbacks, vendor and travel billing.
• Perform period-end close duties and meet deadlines.
• Maintain shared email inboxes and assist internal customers with travel and expense inquiries.
• Reconcile corporate card transactions and prepare journal entries.
• Reconcile payroll expenses and enter journals.
• Review expense report batches and intercompany billbacks prepared by Staff Accountant.
• Review vendor aging reconciliations and related entries.
• Analyze monthly flight credits and communicate reminders to travelers.
• Collaborate with Manager, Accounting on violation reporting and policy compliance.
• Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives.
