Rewards Network is hiring a Senior Accountant in Chicago for a hybrid role requiring in-office presence three days a week. The successful candidate will manage journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting in support of the accounting team.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years of accounting experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and advanced MS Excel skills, with strong communication and detail orientation to ensure accurate financial information and timely close cycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting skills and advanced MS Excel.
• Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy.
• Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Ability to manage a high volume of tasks and meet strict deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication is important for internal/external contacts.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP, standards and regulation.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly and fiscal year-end close activities with timely journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ledgers, and other documents for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead account and bank reconciliations; balance subsidiary accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with budgets and forecasting of expenditures.
• Support audits by providing ledger information to auditors.
• Possibly lead accounts payable processes and ensure proper coding of invoices.
• Identify and implement process improvements to finance operations.
