Sargent & Lundy in Chicago, IL is seeking a Staff Accountant to support month-end closes and GL responsibilities in a hybrid work environment.

The role requires a BS or MS in Accounting, 0–3 years of experience, and strong Excel; CPA candidacy is desirable. Workday experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Accounting required.
• 0–3 years of progressive accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
• Drive accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closes.
• Own parts of complex areas of the general ledger such as fixed assets, leases, and intercompany processing.
• Prepare high-quality workpapers and analyses that support financial statements, GAAP and Tax audits.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects.
• Perform other general accounting duties as assigned.
