Job summary

ViaTech is hiring a combined Security & Network Engineer to own two connected but distinct responsibilities: protecting our systems and data and engineering the network infrastructure that connects our facilities. This hands-on role moves between security architecture and network engineering and adapts as the compliance program matures.

The position is remote with a hybrid preference in Dallas or Chicago, requiring 5+ years in security and network engineering and experience with EDR, MFA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, network engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years combined experience in security and network engineering.
• Experience with HITRUST, HIPAA, SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise routing, switching, and firewall platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead HITRUST and SOC 2 compliance efforts end to end, including audits.
• Manage endpoint and network security tooling, policy, and drift monitoring.
• Oversee identity and access security governance, MFA and conditional access (Entra, Duo).
• Lead incident response and triage for security events and phishing responses.
• Own vulnerability management and patching across servers and apps.
• Design, implement, and maintain routing, switching, and firewall infrastructure across facilities.
• Maintain network diagrams, change management records, and WAN/LAN connectivity between sites.
• Collaborate with engineering for secure network architectures and tenant training on security basics.
