Harvard University’s Kempner Institute invites a Science Writer/Editor to illuminate its cutting-edge AI research. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will craft news stories, press releases, profiles, and social content that translate complex AI and neuroscience themes for broad audiences.

You will manage Kempner’s online presence, collaborate with faculty and researchers, and help shape the institute’s narrative across Harvard publications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ years of science news writing or comparable journalism experience.
• Exceptional storytelling and news judgement for complex topics.

Responsibilities

• Research, report, and write news stories, press releases, profiles, and more.
• Translate AI/neuroscience themes into accessible narratives.
• Produce publish-ready content with accuracy and tone.
• Develop ideas and maintain Kempner website and social channels.
• Collaborate with faculty and communications colleagues.
