Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 4+ years of science news writing or comparable journalism experience.
  • Ability to translate complex scientific topics into clear, impactful prose for diverse audiences.
  • Strong interviewing, research, editing, and fact-checking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Research, report, and write original news stories, press releases, profiles, Q&A, and feature articles.
  • Translate AI/neuroscience themes into compelling narratives for scientific and general audiences.
  • Produce publish-ready content with high standards of accuracy, clarity, and tone.
  • Develop and maintain story ideas and robust coverage across Harvard publications and social media.
  • Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and communications colleagues to promote editorial work.
  • Manage social channels (X, Bluesky, LinkedIn) and implement brand-aligned content strategies.
