Job summary

The Kempner Institute for the Study of Natural and Artificial Intelligence at Harvard seeks a Science Writer/Editor to craft compelling content that highlights the Institute’s research and impact. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will shape narratives for a broad audience across Harvard publications and digital channels.

You will translate complex research into accessible prose, manage social media, and serve as a backup copy editor while collaborating with diverse colleagues

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 4+ years in science news writing or similar journalism.
• Ability to translate complex scientific topics for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Research, report, and write original stories, press releases, profiles, Q&A, features and social content.
• Translate AI/neuroscience themes into engaging narratives for scientific and general audiences.
• Produce publishable content with high standards of accuracy and clarity.
