Job summary

Potter Global Technologies is seeking a Sales Engineer to drive business growth by partnering with Regional Sales Managers, delivering solution guidance, product expertise, and hands-on customer support across opportunities in California.

The role requires a technical background, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to 50% while working in a hybrid/home-office environment. You will engage with customers, partners, and internal teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• At least three years of experience in a related role.
• Proven experience in a technical sales role or engineering support capacity.
• RCDD certification, preferred.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Field expertise for site surveys and pre-build assessment.
• Proficiency with remote troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Regional Sales Managers to identify, develop, and secure opportunities.
• Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and webinars.
• Provide solution design and application guidance, including system architecture discussions.
• Participate in discovery meetings, joint visits, and strategic account planning.
• Develop relationships with integrators, distributors, end users, consultants, and A&E firms.
• Assist in proposals and product specifications.
• Provide deployment and commissioning guidance and mitigate technical risks.
• Deliver enablement activities to build installer and end-user capability to position and support solutions.
• Provide escalated technical assistance in strategic situations.
• Gather Voice of Customer feedback and communicate trends to Product Management and Leadership.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and Valcom offerings.
• Take on additional responsibilities to support goals.
