Job summary

Potter Global Technologies is seeking a Sales Engineer in Roanoke, VA to partner with regional sales managers, deliver technical demonstrations, and guide customers through solution design and deployment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering, product management, and field teams, with travel up to 50% regionally. A technical background and strong communication skills are essential for success in this hybrid, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• At least three years of experience in a related role.
• Proven experience in a technical sales role or engineering support capacity.
• RCDD certification, preferred.
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Field expertise for site surveys and pre-build assessment.
• Proficiency with remote troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Partner with RSMs to create, advance, and win opportunities, coordinating engagement with territory strategy and customer relationships.
• Conduct customer presentations, product demonstrations, and webinars for prospective and existing customers.
• Provide solution design and application guidance, including architecture, integration, and deployment discussions.
• Participate in discovery and planning meetings, joint customer visits with RSMs, and strategic account planning.
• Develop and maintain relationships across the sales ecosystem, including integrators, distributors, end users, consultants and A&E firms, and customer project management, IT, facilities, and safety/security stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of proposals and product specifications.
• Provide deployment and commissioning guidance, identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
• Deliver enablement activities that build integrator, distributor, and end-user capability to position, deploy, and support solutions.
• Provide escalated technical assistance in critical situations, directing routine support and training resources.
