Job summary

Ameren Missouri seeks a SCADA Project Engineer in Renewable Generation Engineering to design, implement, integrate, and optimize control systems across our solar, wind, BESS, and fuel cell assets. The role drives automation and performance improvements for grid reliability across a growing renewable fleet.

You will lead technical design reviews and collaborate with project teams, travel to field sites for installation and commissioning, and support operations with expert SCADA knowledge.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
• Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
• Understanding of SCADA systems and plant-level monitoring/control architectures.
• Experience with PV solar and/or BESS designs and control systems a plus.
• Experience working with logic control platforms a plus.
• Familiarity with HMIs a plus.
• Experience supporting commissioning and field troubleshooting preferred.
• Familiarity with communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850, etc.) and networking (serial, Ethernet TCP/IP, fiber) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the execution and delivery of large renewable and inverter-based generation engineering projects from development through design, construction, testing, closeout and operation.
• Perform and participate in technical design reviews of project electrical and SCADA systems, including generation tie-line, collector substation, plant fiber layout, field networking, meteorological stations, and plant SCADA.
• Collaborate with project management to track design and construction schedules to effectively coordinate with appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure critical milestones are met on time.
• Support on-site installation and commissioning activities of the site SCADA system and network. Review results for accuracy and compliance.
• Support Renewable Operations by providing technical expertise.
• Perform engineering specification development for all renewable technologies in the Ameren portfolio, and revise those for project specific construction, engineering, and equipment needs.
