The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is seeking a Consultant Project Engineer in the Consultant Design Bureau. The role manages multiple transportation projects with several consulting firms, directing and monitoring statewide, diverse projects and consultant contracts.
A Professional Engineer license in Montana is required, with at least five years of related experience and one year of supervision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years progressively responsible experience including project planning, design, or construction.
- At least 1 year of supervision or team-lead experience.
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer in Montana is required.
- Alternative qualifications include related work and education; licensure in Montana remains required.

- Develop, direct, and monitor statewide diverse and complex projects.
- Develop, negotiate, execute, and administer consultant contracts statewide.
- Supervise consultant work and provide leadership.
