Job summary

Fastly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Network Management Platform to help architect and deploy the next generation of network configuration and infrastructure provisioning. You will work with cross-functional teams to scale Fastly's fleet, improve CI/CD, and ensure reliable software delivery.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to code reviews, and drive best practices in software development, testing, and deployment across the global edge network.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related software development experience.
• 3 years of building and managing containerized applications and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• 3 years of automating public cloud workloads (GCP, AWS) and using IaC solutions such as Terraform.
• Experience in software development and DevOps best practices.
• Track record of writing resilient and maintainable Python or another modern language.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver next-generation features to manage and deploy network configuration.
• Design features to support infrastructure provisioning as the fleet grows.
• Enhance software development processes including testing and CI/CD.
• Write performant, maintainable code and participate in code reviews to improve the codebase and team processes.
• Mentor and support engineers, fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
