Job summary

Cotality is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer (Python) to lead the design, development, and testing of scalable, AI-enabled backend services. This senior role offers hybrid-remote work across Irvine, OKC, Sunrise, Oxford, and Dallas, with mentorship and architectural leadership guiding the semantic layer to thousands of attributes.

You will architect Hybrid Graph/Vector search (GraphRAG), develop high-performance AI services, and collaborate with Data Science to optimize LLM/SLM

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expert in Python/FastAPI for production web services.
• Strong knowledge of Knowledge Representation, Ontologies and Graph Reasoning.
• Experience with Vector Databases and Hybrid Search (RAG).
• Experience deploying scalable AI services in cloud (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve the semantic layer to scale automated intelligence.
• Lead technical delivery, owning architectural vision for knowledge representation.
• Design and deploy GraphRAG hybrid search for global reasoning.
• Develop high-performance AI services using Git, Unix, Python, and FastAPI.
• Mentor engineers and drive TDD across the stack.
