Cotality is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced software systems. This hybrid-remote role involves driving engineering excellence and mentorship across teams while evolving the Semantic Layer Web Service into a high-scale, automated platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, scaling, and maintaining production web services in Python.
• Strong understanding of Knowledge Representation, Ontologies, and Graph Reasoning.

Responsibilities

• Lead the redesign and scaling of the Semantic Layer Web Service.
• Serve as the primary technical lead for the delivery team.
• Design and deploy Hybrid Graph/Vector search architectures.
• Utilize Git, Unix command line, Python, FastAPI for backend services.
• Collaborate on automated workflows for Ontology Management and Entity Linking.
• Implement rigorous TDD practices and write comprehensive tests.
