Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking an Associate Actuary in a hybrid or remote setting with offices in CT, MA or MI. The role leads actuarial projects, analyzes complex data, and guides junior staff while aligning with business strategy.

FCAS/ACAS and five+ years’ actuarial experience across LOBs are preferred. Strong analytics, SQL, Excel, and communication skills are essential for collaboration with stakeholders across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with ACAS designation or equivalent work experience.
• Five+ years of technical actuarial experience across pricing, reserving or predictive modeling.
• ACAS or higher designation preferred; ability to research and apply advanced techniques.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel; intermediate SQL programming ability.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines with quality results.

Responsibilities

• Lead actuarial projects and present results to partners.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify solutions and improvements.
• Suggest enhancements to ratemaking and reserve methods.
• Develop experience exhibits and analyses to inform strategy.
• Coach junior team members and contribute to recruiting/training efforts.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and respond to inquiries.
