Job summary

The NC Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Staff Development Specialist II to design, develop, and deliver training programs for regional staff and to support department-wide learning initiatives.

This role oversees end-to-end regional training, coordinates logistics, and builds curricula for in-person and online delivery, while ensuring training effectiveness and alignment with organizational goals. A hybrid schedule and travel are involved.

Qualifications

• Documented experience using an information system.
• Experience managing multi-faceted programs.
• Experience in coaching, mediation, and/or consulting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training and facilitate sessions for regional locations.
• Coordinate logistics for classrooms, tech, and materials.
• Create LMS course schedules and track attendance and compliance.
• Identify completion gaps and report results to regional teams and leadership.
• Provide coaching and organizational development activities for groups and individuals.
• Adapt facilitation style to diverse audiences and needs.
• Develop curricula for in-class and online formats aligned with goals.
• Create instructional materials and digital content for instruction.
• Evaluate training outcomes and refine content for relevance and clarity.
• Represent the agency at regional or statewide events and committees.
