Job summary

Iowa Workforce Development is seeking a Reemployment Career Planner to support unemployment claimants in Des Moines, IA. The role requires providing essential Reemployment Services and UI assistance, maintaining accurate records, and guiding claimants toward work-search success.

Hybrid work option after six months, with full-time hours and regular in-office scheduling at 200 Army Post Rd, Des Moines. A four-year degree or equivalent experience is required, with supportive benefits for state

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field.
• Four years of full-time work experience in career services, teaching or training to improve skills, job coaching, providing human services to individuals in need, sales, customer service, call center operations, or human-resources-related services involving interviewing, reviewing job applications, conducting employment-related assessments, or job placement.
• A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number two), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes twelve months of full-time work as a Workforce Associate.

Responsibilities

• Provide all required Reemployment Services program components to unemployment participants during all appointments.
• Review unemployment insurance (UI) claim status with claimant and refer any claim issues to appropriate staff members.
• Provide required information to claimant.
• Ensure work search requirements are being met, and all work searches are documented correctly.
• Explain, promote, and discuss One-Stop Center workshops to claimants and register claimants to attend workshops.
• Accurately document all services, appointments or other pertinent information in database system.
