Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, in Austin, TX, seeks a Project Manager to oversee technical and financial aspects of various utility projects and to develop client relationships while marketing Pickett’s services to new and existing clients. The candidate should hold a Bachelor's in Civil/Mechanical Engineering (or related) with 5–10 years PM experience and PE or PMP certification.

Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (preferred)
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of related experience (required)
• PE registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (required)
• Previous project management experience with a utility or engineering consulting firm is highly desired
• Experience in transmission line design and management (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Some travel is required

Responsibilities

• Manage projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities
• Oversee project performance including scope, schedule, budget, and safety
• Develop financial controls reports for weekly/monthly client reviews
• Coordinate with Engineering Leads to track client deliverables
• Prepare bid documents, RFP responses and cost estimates
• Support Marketing with proposals and scope/budgets
• Write comprehensive project reports
• Coordinate monthly invoicing and accounts receivable with Accounting
