Job summary

Pickett, an ESP Associates company, is seeking a Project Manager to oversee technical and financial aspects of multiple projects, develop client relations, and market Pickett’s services.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (preferred), 5–10 years of related experience, and PE or PMP certification. Some travel is required, and familiarity with utility or engineering firms is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of related experience (required).
• PE licensure or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (required).
• Previous project management experience with a utility or engineering consulting firm highly desired.
• Experience in transmission line design and management (preferred).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Some travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities.
• Oversee project performance including scope, schedule, budget, and safety.
• Develop recovery plans to stay within approved limits.
• Coordinate with Engineering Leads and Managers to track client deliverables.
• Create financial control reports for client and internal review.
• Interface with client and management to report progress, costs, schedule, and risks.
• Communicate with clients, internal teams, and subcontractors.
• Assist with bid documents, RFP responses, and cost estimates.
• Support Marketing with proposal development (scope, schedule, budgets).
• Write comprehensive and technical project reports.
• Oversee monthly client invoicing and accounts receivable with Accounting/Project Controls.
• Perform other duties as needed.
