Job summary

SDSU Research Foundation is seeking a Project Manager to lead design, tenant improvements, and capital projects across a diverse facilities portfolio. You will guide design, budget, and schedules while ensuring safe, compliant execution and productive collaboration with faculty, researchers, tenants, and contractors.

Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in space planning and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent in drafting, architecture, engineering, interior design, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in space planning and tenant improvement project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, tenant improvement, and capital projects from concept through closeout, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Coordinate meetings with faculty, researchers, tenants, consultants, and contractors.
• Conduct onsite assessments, kickoff meetings, and punch‑list walkthroughs to verify progress and safety.
• Develop bid analyses, track budgets, and maintain project schedules.
• Prepare schematic designs, AutoCAD drawings, and construction documents; oversee interior layouts and space planning.
