Job summary

The SDSU Research Foundation’s Facilities Planning & Management Department seeks a Project Manager to lead design, tenant improvements, and capital projects across a diverse facilities portfolio. You will balance feasibility, design, and budget while ensuring spaces are safe and ready to support discovery, innovation, and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in drafting, architecture, engineering, interior design or related field is required.
• Minimum of 3 years in space planning and tenant improvement project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, tenant improvement, and capital projects from concept through closeout, ensuring codes, budgets, schedules, and foundation standards.
• Facilitate meetings with faculty, researchers, tenants, consultants, and contractors to define scope and maintain collaboration.
• Conduct on-site assessments, kick-off meetings, and punch-list walkthroughs to verify progress and safety.
• Develop bid analyses, track budgets, and maintain schedules to meet critical timelines.
• Prepare schematic designs, AutoCAD drawings, and construction documents; oversee interior layouts and space planning.
