Job summary

SGS in Wheat Ridge, CO is seeking a Project Manager on a hybrid schedule with 3–5 days on-site. You will manage a portfolio of clients, guide projects from quote to invoicing, and coordinate with the Rocklin, CA lab as needed.

You will train assistants and collaborate with sales, operations, and client services to ensure on-time results. The role demands strong communication, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Associates' degree or equivalent industry experience in sciences or customer service.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field.
• Advanced oral and written communications skills.
• Strong self-initiative and resourcefulness.
• Advanced English language skills.
• Advanced mathematical, reasoning, and computer skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Solid critical thinking skills to anticipate and solve problems.
• Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 25 lbs on an occasional basis.

Responsibilities

• Acts as the main point of contact for a dedicated list of clients with lower complexities and/or annual analytical spend.
• Aids clients with project setup: initial quote, supply order, sample receipt, data reporting, and invoicing.
• Fosters collaborative relationships with client, laboratory operations, and sales team to support long-term relationships.
• Acts as client liaison to the laboratory to ensure project aspects meet client and lab needs to meet TAT.
• Keeps accounts project managed and up to date and accurate.
• Monitors project status and provides regular updates to client, lab operations, and sales.
• Understands project regulations and methods used to produce results; knowledge of environmental regulations helpful (e.g., NPDES, SW-846).
• Documents and executes client requests including bottle orders, tracking samples, LIMS login, change orders.
• Reviews project data and invoicing for accuracy before sending final reports.
• Participates in offsite and/or virtual client meetings with Sales.
• Promotes SGS positively inside and outside the lab.
• Performs other duties to help SGS fulfill its mission.
