Job summary

HonorVet Technologies, a Service Disable Veteran-Owned IT staffing firm, seeks a Project Accountant II in Chicago, IL for a hybrid full-time role. You will manage projects’ financials, budgets, variances, and revenue recognition while coordinating with the accounting department and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in project accounting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Financial Force or similar software is desirable
• Must be flexible to work overtime and be in the office

Responsibilities

• Handle full range of project accounting responsibilities including adherence to standards and contract compliance
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external clients
• Identify process improvements to maintain cost/profit center results
• Monitor progress against budgets/forecasts
• Manage projects: opening, costing, tracking and financial closure
• Perform revenue recognition reviews for projects
• Coordinate all financial activities between project/contract and Accounting Department
• Ensure budgeting, collections, and P&L review for assigned projects
• Collaborate with group managers to resolve terms detrimental to the company
