Job summary

HOK is seeking a Project Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in a hybrid role based in St. Louis, MO. On-site presence is required three days per week in our new office.

The role focuses on project setup, billing, reporting, financial analysis, and revenue recognition, partnering with Project Managers and Finance leadership to ensure accurate accounting for assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 2–4 years of project accounting experience, preferably in architecture.
• Experience with revenue recognition is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly invoices, budgets, and reports for projects.
• Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system per contracts.
• Track project budgets and financial data.
• Review cost reports with Project Managers and Finance leadership.
• Manage consultant invoice processing.
• Review project contracts and financial requirements.
• Assist with revenue recognition and monthly earnings analysis.
• Respond to inquiries on financial matters from staff, vendors, and clients.
• Analyze project cost reports with Project Managers and Finance Director.
• Provide general accounting support as needed.
• Support sustainability initiatives through green workplace practices.
