Job summary

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in operational cost accounting within construction or related industries, experience with ERP systems, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in an operational cost accounting role.
• Experience in commercial construction, telecom or related industry preferred.
• Knowledge of JD Edwards or similar large ERP preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction methods.
• Financial acumen on equipment utilization, rates, capital decisions and profitability analysis.
• Working knowledge of construction accounting principles.
• Working knowledge of construction software systems.
• Strong analytical skills and problem solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage project cost control systems.
• Interpret and communicate contractual and commercial terms.
• Deliver accurate cost reporting and strategic financial insights to leadership.
• Support collective agreement development and execution.
• Coordinate invoicing documentation, including declarations and certificates.
• Prepare and submit LEM reports, progress billings, invoices, and holdback releases.
• Validate third-party invoices and reconcile electronic billing with client systems.
• Monitor equipment usage, rental agreements, subcontractors, and ensure contractual compliance.
• Support project managers with change orders, payroll coordination, payment resolution, and month-end journal entries.
