Job summary

Tiello LLC is partnering with a well-regarded General Contractor in the South Boston, MA area to recruit a Project Accountant (Construction) for a hybrid work arrangement. This key role supports project accounting and financial operations across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years in construction accounting, experience with Procore or Sage 300, and a detail-oriented, collaborative approach to working with project managers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in construction accounting, project accounting, ap/ar, construction billing or a related accounting role within the construction industry.
• Experience working for a General Contractor preferred.
• Understanding of construction accounting procedures, project financials, budgets, forecasting, billing, and change orders.
• Experience with Procore and/or Sage 300 preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help manage accounting activities and financial transactions across multiple construction projects.
• Help manage project financials, including budgets, forecasts, costs, billings, and financial reporting.
• Review and process change orders, including approved, unpriced, and unapproved change orders.
• Help prepare and manage lien releases and related project documentation.
• Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Help prepare and maintain project budgets and financial forecasts.
• Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and other project-related financial transactions.
• Assist with payroll, taxes, and other accounting-related activities as needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized project financial records and documentation.
• Work closely with Project Managers and internal teams to monitor project financial performance.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
