Job summary

HOK is seeking a Project Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. This hybrid role is based in the Houston office, requiring on-site three days per week, to support project setup, billing, reporting and revenue recognition for key projects.

You will work with Project Managers and Finance leadership, handling budgets, cost analysis, invoicing and financial reporting with advanced Excel and Deltek Vantagepoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in architecture/design/construction.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly invoices, budgets, and project management reports.
• Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system per contract terms.
• Track and input project budgets and financial data.
• Review project cost reports and discuss status, profitability, and costs with PMs/Finance leadership.
• Manage consultant invoice processing and communications.
• Review project contracts and financial requirements.
• Assist with revenue recognition and monthly earnings analysis.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, and clients about financial matters.
• Provide general accounting support as needed.
