Job summary

HOK is seeking a Project Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in a hybrid role based in Detroit, MI. You’ll collaborate with Project Managers and Finance leadership to support project setup, billing, reporting, financial analysis and revenue recognition.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of project accounting experience, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, advanced Excel skills, and proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint. The role offers growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• 2–4 years of project accounting experience, preferably in architecture.
• Experience with revenue recognition and project costing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly invoices, budgets, and project reports.
• Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system per contract terms.
• Track budgets and financial data; review cost reports with PMs.
• Manage consultant invoice processing and communications.
• Assist with revenue recognition and earnings analysis.
• Support sustainability initiatives and hybrid work environment.
