Placements24 is searching for a Procurement Coordinator for a growing manufacturing client in East London, South Africa. The role focuses on day-to-day purchasing activities, supplier collaboration, and accurate record-keeping within a hybrid work environment.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in procurement support, a related degree, strong Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
• 1–3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing support is preferred.
• Familiarity with procurement processes and principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are important.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively; ERP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and prepare purchase orders.
• Communicate with suppliers to confirm orders, delivery dates, and resolve discrepancies.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and update databases.
• Assist in sourcing new suppliers and obtaining quotes.
• Coordinate with internal departments regarding their purchasing needs.
• Support the procurement team with administrative tasks and reporting.
• Monitor inventory levels for relevant procurement items.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Handle inquiries from suppliers and internal stakeholders related to orders.
