Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager in East London, Eastern Cape, to lead strategic sourcing, supplier relationships, and cost optimization in a hybrid role. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in procurement, with at least 4 in management, and strong ERP experience in SAP or Oracle.

The role requires a degree in a relevant field, a preference for a Master’s, and experience in automotive/manufacturing sectors.

Qualifications

8+ years in procurement or purchasing with 4+ years in management or leadership.
Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, and complex contract negotiations.
Strong understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and manufacturing procurement.
Excellent leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement software.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for direct and indirect spend.
Lead and mentor a procurement team to drive performance and cost savings.
Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management processes.
Build strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers.
Analyze market trends and supplier risks to mitigate disruptions.
Drive cost reduction initiatives aligned with budgets and targets.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to meet production needs.
Implement and optimize procurement processes, policies, and systems.
Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions as needed.
Ensure ethical business practices and regulatory compliance.
