Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks a Principal, Information Management in Anchorage, AK to lead the Data and Mapping group within the Northwest Operations. Hybrid work is available as the team expands to serve external clients.

The role blends geospatial leadership with business development and staff mentoring. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, guide staffing, and drive client-focused solutions utilizing ArcGIS, scripting, and data management tools, while pursuing growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, geospatial science, environmental science, or related field (required).
• GIS Professional (GISP) certification (preferred).
• At least 10 years (15+ preferred) of progressive experience in consulting or equivalent.
• Experience in geospatial leadership, program management, or business development; client portfolio growth.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams and cross-practice collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data and Mapping group’s transition from internal support to external client-facing services.
• Assess capabilities and guide staffing and growth decisions.
• Lead internal/external client projects ensuring scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
• Pursue business development through RFPs, NOFOs, and client opportunities.
• Lead proposals and marketing materials with marketing support.
• Build relationships across Geosyntec practices for cross-sales opportunities.
• Develop client portfolios and manage ongoing client relationships.
