Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants seeks a Project to Senior GIS and Environmental Data Professional to join our Blue Bell or Pittsburgh, PA offices. The role combines GIS data management, analysis, and visualization across environmental and infrastructure projects with hybrid work possibilities.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in GIS and database tech, strong ArcGIS/EQuIS skills, and the ability to lead staff, automate processes with SQL/Python, and communicate effectively with clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, earth sciences or related field (required).
• Advanced degree in the same (preferred).
• 7+ years of experience in database technology and GIS (8+ preferred).
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing technical staff (required).
• Proficiency with ArcGIS and/or EQuIS software ecosystems (required).
• Ability to write complex queries and automate routines (e.g., VBA/SQL) and scripts (Python) (preferred).
• Excellent communication skills; travel may be required (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and manage, mentor, and develop project staff.
• Compile, verify, analyze, and report large and diverse datasets; apply statistical models for route and site studies.
• Develop workflows and metadata to automate data compilation for maps, reports and tools.
• Design, develop, and produce data visualization outputs using ArcGIS.
• Coordinate data transfer with internal and external providers.
• Manage GIS and data-management projects (scope, schedule, budget, quality, client communication).
• Interact with clients, regulators, and team members on data management and visualization tasks.
• Support data collection, GIS/database integration for various projects including environmental permitting and infrastructure.
