Job summary

Dominion Energy in Richmond, VA is seeking an entry-level engineer to support the Power Generation Electrical team. You will perform engineering calculations, studies, and design under supervision to develop professional engineering knowledge and apply fundamental principles.

Responsibilities include power systems analysis (short circuit, load flow, arc flash), incident support, and ensuring compliance with NERC standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering concepts and fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Perform power systems analysis (Short circuit, load flow, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash) for plant projects and operations.
• Provide technical support and identify process improvements from incident investigations and industry best practices.
• Support NERC Modeling, Data, and Analysis (MOD), Protection and Control (PRC), and Facilities Design, Connections, and Maintenance (FAC) standards.
• Perform protective relay settings calculations; develop logic diagrams and documentation for protection of generators, transformers, motors, buses and other major plant equipment.
• Evaluate design of new or proposed generation and assess impact on existing electrical distribution; perform uprate studies.
• Oversee electrical equipment installation and provide commissioning support of equipment such as switchgear, transformers and motors.
• Perform other duties related to power systems as required.
