Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a Graduate Intern to join the Electric Transmission Planning & Strategic Initiatives team in Virginia. You will assist in power system modeling, load-flow studies, and dynamic simulations, exploring unconventional solutions for renewables integration and grid reliability.

You will work under mentors on a defined project, present at a summer conference, and participate in a Graduate Student Report Out. A strong engineering background and programming skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering and admitted to a Masters or Ph.D. in engineering (ABET-accredited program).
• Minimum GPA 3.2 and anticipated graduation Fall 2027 or later.
• Strong electrical engineering background with knowledge of power systems fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Power system modeling and analysis tasks for transmission planning.
• Load flow, dynamic, and small signal studies.
• Electromagnetic transient simulations and data analytics.
• Support evaluation and development of advanced power systems technologies.
• Develop and maintain computer-based tools for engineering groups.
