Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking an Entry/Developmental engineer to support the Power Generation Electrical team. You will perform power systems analysis, run studies, and help develop robust electrical solutions for plant operations.

With 0-2 years of experience and a Bachelor’s in Engineering, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to protection, modeling, and project coordination while enjoying a hybrid 3-2 work schedule in the Richmond, VA area.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of engineering concepts, fundamentals and theory.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to learn and apply engineering principles to complex problems.
• Ability to interpret codes and standards applicable to power engineering.

Responsibilities

• Perform power systems analysis (short circuit, load flow, coordination, arc flash) for projects and operations.
• Provide technical support and identify process improvements from investigations.
• Support NERC MOD/PRC/FAC standards compliance.
• Perform protective relay settings calculations and develop diagrams and documentation.
• Evaluate design changes to plant electrical distribution and uprate studies.
• Oversee equipment installation and commissioning support for switchgear, transformers, and motors.
