Job summary

DocuSign is seeking an experienced backend platform engineer to design, build, and operate scalable services powering cloud platforms for reliable software releases. You will contribute across deployment pipelines, observability, and reliability initiatives, with moderate guidance in an individual contributor role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in CS/SE or equivalent practical experience.
• At least three years building backend, platform, or reliability-focused services.
• Experience with modern languages such as C#, Java, or Go.
• Working knowledge of distributed systems, web services, REST or gRPC APIs, and structured data.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and Agile practices.
• Experience using coding assistants for debugging, profiling, or technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, document, review, and audit technical solutions for platform features and components.
• Build and operate scalable backend services, reusable components, infrastructure modules, and deployment pipelines across cloud environments.
• Create comprehensive unit, component, and end-to-end testing plans, while debugging issues across services and environments.
• Implement metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and service-level objectives for observability and reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotations, investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and improve runbooks.
• Work within Agile processes and collaborate across teams to identify delivery risks.
