Job summary

Kennedy Jenks Consultants in Oregon and Washington seeks an experienced Pipeline Engineer to support water, wastewater, and utility conveyance projects from planning through construction. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to technical reports, and mentor junior staff.

The role emphasizes design, hydraulic analysis, and construction support, with an emphasis on meeting regulatory requirements and project delivery. Hybrid work with two office days per week is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar engineering field.
• 10+ years of experience in pipeline engineering, including design, analysis, and construction support.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in California, Oregon and/or Washington preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience with pipeline design software and hydraulic modeling tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform hydraulic and pipe design calculations for water and wastewater pipelines.
• Prepare designs, specifications, and drawings for complex pipeline projects, including alignment studies, hydraulic analyses, condition assessments, rehabilitation, new pipeline design, and in-service commissioning.
• Apply industry standards, publications, codes, and regional regulatory requirements to guide pipeline design and installation.
• Provide construction-phase engineering support: review materials submittals, respond to RFIs, and assist owners in compliance with contract documents.
• Evaluate existing pipeline systems, conduct condition assessments, and recommend rehabilitation or replacement approaches using various pipe materials and trenchless methods.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, support junior staff development, contribute to client service, write technical reports, maintain project documentation, and support quality control processes.
